Everyone? Yep, thought so. That’s because you’re being assigned the task of feeling good about your body in a world that undermines you every step of the way.

In this workshop with sexuality and body image educator Rebecca Rose Vassy, get ready for a practical, radical approach to making peace with your body—and making change in the world around you. As a queer, fat woman in the performing arts, Rebecca has walked that very path for years and has a set of tools and techniques to help make that journey easier for you. We’ll talk about:

Why you don’t have to feel positive about your body to develop a good relationship with it

What “body positivity” is really about—and how to aim for it

How to unpack and re-frame the internalized body hate you’ve been taught to carry

Techniques for managing (and sometimes overcoming) your body image issues

How to cultivate a compassionate, supportive network of allies

While we’ll talk about fatphobia, fat liberation, and how the fat liberation movement pioneered the body positive movement, this workshop is not limited to people struggling with fatness. You are welcome if you’re grappling with a specific area or body part, with disability, with gender dysphoria, or simply with feeling unattractive or undesirable.

There will be a Q&A discussion period with a method for submitting questions or experiences anonymously. This class will be recorded and the link to the recording provided to all registrants. Sliding scale tiers are available, and you may also inquire about sliding scale accommodations at contact@tamarapincus.com.

Your body is not the problem—a world set up to make you feel like one is. Get equipped to fight back even as you befriend your body at last.

See our Classes page for more classes this summer and fall that will help you build your confidence and social skills!
