In this space we want to explore how grief shows up when we work towards creating a better world. Joining activist/organizing spaces can be an experience very full of grief. We can experience betrayal, disapointment and further violence at the hands of those who we thought were there for us. It's ok to feel grief and loss when you realize you joined a group that didn't end up being safe. Many of us racialized folks have had experiences where we have felt used, tokenized or like our existence in the space didn't matter. We want to give you the space to feel the depths of sadness and anger you've experienced, in whatever capacity that may be. This is a space for your grief to be held, validated and honoured.

As always we do not force participation. If you wish to simply listen, that is very ok! We do not do ice breakers or breakout rooms.

Please let us know what you need to make the space feel comforting to you
