As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Iain champions making yoga accessible for absolutely everybody.

The session will combine mindful movement, meditation and breathwork. The sessions are open and suitable for absolutely anyone, including those who may have limited mobility.

More about the Session Facilitator:

Iain (he/him) is a Yoga teacher who lives in Leeds with his boyfriend and their cat, Lulu (a rescue who is somewhat wild and will most likely make an appearance during a class). Outside of Yoga, Iain is a massive comic book nerd, coffee lover and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan.

FAQ’s:

Can I come to this session if I’ve not been before?

Yes! Feel free to let the session facilitator know if you haven’t come along to one of our sessions in the past and they’ll be sure to make you feel welcome in the group!

Can I come to sessions if I’m not a member of the LGBT Community?

LLCC is proud to offer our sessions for free. This is because we receive funding to host sessions and events specifically for people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ Community. Allies of the LGBTQ+ Community are encouraged to promote our sessions to LGBTQ+ friends, service users and colleagues.

Is this session accessible to wheelchair users?

Yes. The movement in this session will be seated with gentle movement and stretching, with lots of breathing and meditation practice. Some elements may require a certain level of mobility, for example raising the hands over the head, but this can always be modified to suit your needs and certainly isn’t a must-have to enjoy the sessions. If you want to ask any questions about accessibility, drop us an email at lgbtqcc@gmail.com.

Leeds LGBTQ+ Community Consortium are resolute in our commitment to maintaining a zero tolerance policy against any and all forms of discrimination, including but not limited to race, gender, ethnicity, religion, age and sexual orientation. If this policy is abused by anyone taking part in sessions, you will be removed from the session and may not be allowed to come to future events
