Well, you have found the right group! In this group, we talk about our struggles and experiences, learn healthy coping skills, build support networks, and help each other with validation, understanding, and empathy.

Emotional abuse is a form of abuse that involves the use of words or actions to control, manipulate, or intimidate another person. It can include things like name-calling, insults, threats, isolation, and controlling behavior. Emotional abuse can have a devastating impact on the victim, causing them to feel isolated, worthless, and hopeless.

This group is hosted by the nonprofit organization &Rise. &Rise offers free weekly support groups that are 100% private, 100% confidential, and 100% supportive! We offer groups in-person (In Chicago and Lombard Illinois) and several weekly virtual options as well.

Please note, this is not a therapy group but a peer-led community with trained professionals of female survivors supporting and talking with one another about their experiences and healing.

We have an amazing group of ladies that are kind and know what you are going through. You do not have to suffer alone or suffer in silence, we are here for you! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Support groups can provide a number of benefits for survivors of emotional abuse, including:

• A sense of community: Survivors of emotional abuse often feel isolated and alone. Support groups can provide a sense of community and belonging, where they can connect with others who have shared experiences.

• Validation: In a support group, survivors can have their experiences validated by others who understand what they are going through. This can help to reduce feelings of shame and guilt.

• Coping skills: Support groups can teach survivors coping skills to help them deal with the emotional and psychological effects of abuse.

• Hope: Support groups can provide survivors with hope for the future. By seeing other survivors who have healed and moved on, they can learn that it is possible to overcome the effects of abuse and build a happy and healthy life.

Please be aware that if you are a student or need to do any sort of observations that require a letter or signature, you must let the support group facilitator aware and you must give the facilitator at least 1 week to complete it. We do not guarantee letters or signatures in less than 7 days. Please also note that we charge $10 for attending our groups as a student and for the administrative cost for paperwork and occupancy in our groups. If you do not pay through our portal, we are not obligated to release you your documents.
